Happy Wednesday! 

Thank you all for joining us for our meeting this past Monday. We hope you all enjoyed Lisa Freeley's, presentation on the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone in college! We would like to highlight a quote by Annette White that Lisa shared during her presentation: "Each time you try something for the first time you will grow - a little piece of the fear of the unknown is removed and replaced with a sense of empowerment." We hope you can remember this next time you are faced with an endeavor you are hesitant to take on! We would like to extend a thank you to Lisa, our DEI and Campus Outreach Director, for sharing her wonderful presentation with us. As we mentioned during our meeting, our FINAL meeting of the year will be held on Monday, May 8th at 7pm in Mahar Auditorium. We will be hosting a Game Night event to wrap up the semester and de-stress before finals! All are welcome to join us for this free event, complete with snacks and fun prizes! If you are interested in attending, please fill out this form to help us plan for this event. This event will be best attended in person, so we will not be offering a Zoom link. We are so excited to celebrate another awesome year of WiB together, so we hope to see you there!

WiB x DSP Thrift Store Fundraiser: WiB is hosting a thrift store fundraiser in collaboration with Delta Sigma Pi (DSP) TODAY, Wednesday, May 3rd from 10am-4pm in the Student Union! Stop by as soon as you can to find some new clothes to revamp your summer closet. This is a great way to shop sustainably and support our club!

The Beacon Fellowship
The Beacon Fellowship invites students still looking for Summer 2023 plans to apply to their summer consulting programs! They currently still have openings for their Geneva (Switzerland) UNICEF Project, and their Washington D.C. Children's National Hospital Project. She will be sharing her personal journey with cultivating confidence at a large university like UMass, and how these principles transferred to her first internship and beyond. Personal growth, while scary and uncomfortable at times, is crucial to becoming your best self, so don’t miss this opportunity to learn more!

UMass Smart Women Securities (SWS) is a non-profit organization aimed at empowering women and teaching them about finance. SWS invited students to apply for their Environmental Social Governance Fund (ESG) Junior Analyst position. This opportunity provides students with more hands-on financial modeling and equity research experience centered around sustainable investing. Each Junior Analyst will be paired with a Senior Analyst, who will help guide them in their research. The application, which closes on Tuesday, May 2nd at 11:59pm, can be found here.

This meeting will be a great way to hear from real students about their experience navigating the internship search process, and what their roles looked like. If you are looking for advice about future internships, or are just curious to learn more about them, this meeting is for you!

"Pie an I" Fundraiser: WiB will be joining the Isenberg Senior Gift Committee for their Pie an I fundraiser! TOMORROW Thursday, April 20th from 11am to 3pm, stop by the Isenberg Courtyard to pie some of your favorite WiB members for a great cause. Pies will be $5, which will support WiB and the Isenberg community! Seniors will receive a T-shirt and their Isenberg graduation cord. Please note that this event was originally scheduled to be held on 4/19, but has been moved.

The Minutemen Fixed Income Fund (MFIF) is a student-run credit research fund that strives to prepare their members for competitive high finance roles in Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, Credit/Equity Research, and more. They are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2023 Junior Analyst Program! First-year and second-year students of all majors are encouraged to apply.
