UMPD Self Defense Program: This is an 8-week program offered ala carte style (it is asked that you sign up for at least 4 of the weeks) in order to accommodate your busy schedule. We cover a variety of techniques based on judo, boxing, jiu jitsu, and taekwondo that can be used to defend yourself against any aggressive actions. Try to bring a friend as most of the work is done pairing up. If interested, it takes place on Wednesday nights from 5-6pm in the Lower Level Campus Center. Sign up here

Habitat For Humanity: Habitat for Humanity is an amazing volunteer opportunity that helps build affordable housing for families and individuals in need. The UMass Chapter does a variety of events such as volunteering at local soup kitchens and non-profit organizations, fundraising, and more. Goldman Sachs: Goldman Sachs is excited to invite you to the firm’s 2025 Virtual Insight Series virtual program. Goldman Sachs Insight Series is a four week long virtual undergraduate program. As a participant, you can personalize your digital curriculum or enjoy the recommended sessions for your grade levels. If interested, apply here. Applications are due by Monday, April 15th at 11:59.

Fidelity: Apply to Fidelity's Diverse Insights Program. The Diverse Insights Program provides students with tangible, resume- enhancing skills, networking opportunities, and interactive workshops to assist with discovering a path in financial services. This program is open to all first- and second-year students enrolled in a college or university. The intention is to enhance Fidelity’s relationships with students in the Black/LatinX communities. Accepted students will attend four hour-long webinars in March and April, followed by an invitation to interview for a summer 2026 internship at Fidelity. Thank you all for joining us on Monday for our last semester meeting! We had so much fun playing games with you and relaxing before the chaos of finals.

As a reminder, we will NOT be having a meeting next week. We wish you the best of luck studying and on all of your finals. 

Thank you all for making this semester truly exceptional. We've achieved so much together this fall, and none of it would have been possible without each and every one of you. Your hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm have been truly inspiring, and it’s been such a pleasure getting to know you all over the past few months. We've shared many great moments and are so grateful for your positive impact on this semester.

As we look ahead, we’re beyond excited to see you again next semester and continue building on everything we’ve accomplished so far.

In the meantime, we hope you all have a restful, safe, and joyful holiday break, filled with relaxation and fun. We can’t wait to see you next semester!

Hot Chocolate Run: Join us this Sunday, December 8th in Northampton for the 21st Annual Hot Chocolate Run! This event supports Safe Passage, a Hampshire County organization that addresses domestic violence. This event is extremely important to the community, and we need your help to help make it happen! There are so many ways to get involved, whether it's volunteering like being a Race Course Marshall, or signing up to run/walk. If interested, please fill out this form here. UMass ICons: The UMass iCons Program is looking to hire two graduate teaching assistants (TA) in the Spring 2025 semester for our iCons 2 writing/communications classes, one focusing on biomedicine & biosystemsand the other on renewable energy. The TAs will play a key role in reading student work and providing detailed feedback to students to support their revision process. The TA will also interact with students during class time to support their progress and development in individual assignments and team projects. If interested, applicants should submit their resume/CV, a statement of interest, and a writing sample to icons@cns.umass.edu by 5:00 pm TOMORROW: Thursday, December 6, 2024. In the statement, applicants need to indicate why they are interested in teaching for the UMass iCons Program, which class focus they are interested in, and how their specific skills can contribute to this course.
