We hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend! Our next meeting will be held on Monday, February 27th at 7pm in Mahar Auditorium, and we will be welcoming UMass Smart About Money (SAM)! Student SAM Financial Coach, Elena Sadok, will be leading the meeting, sharing her “How Not to Go Broke” presentation. 

As we did not meet this past week, we invite you to join us for a Vinyasa Yoga style class, led by our amazing E-Board Director Dasha Shterenberg, this Sunday, February 26th at 10am in the Isenberg Hub! Spring 2023 Membership
As we mentioned at our first meeting, there are a few changes to our active membership status this semester.

New Members: Our membership dues are $10, which gain you access to all the amazing events we have planned for this semester! You can either Venmo @UMassWiB with your full name and UMass Email OR bring cash at the end of our next meeting. If you paid in the fall, you do NOT have to pay again for the spring semester.  

Active Membership Status: You can earn active member status by obtaining 15 points over the span of the semester! Our points system is used to measure club involvement, and gain you access to special resources. These points are also especially important for E-Board applications. General Body Meetings are worth 1 point, Committee Meetings are worth 2 points and all other events/workshops are worth 3 points. 

Women of Isenberg Conference: Registration for the 10th Annual Women of Isenberg Conference is still open! This event will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 8:30am to 3:30pm. All are welcome to attend this is incredible opportunity to learn from panel speakers, participate in networking workshops and much more. UMass Smart Women Securities (SWS)
UMass Smart Women Securities (SWS) invites interested students to attend their next meeting on Sunday, February 26th at 6pm in Isenberg 108. They will be welcoming guest speaker Monsoon Pabrai, who is a Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager of Drew Investment Management

SWS also invites students to participate in their Spring Research Teams! Participants will be assigned groups to construct a stock pitch over the course of the semester to pitch to the entire club. The UMass Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship will be hosting the Hult Prize Challenge, a social entrepreneurship-based competition on Wednesday, March 1st. Marcie obtained her MBA and MPPA from UMass, and currently works as the Assistant Director of Career Services for the UMass School of Public Policy! We hope you all are having a great first week of classes, and are getting excited to be back together for WiB! Our first meeting of the semester will be held on Monday, February 13th at 7pm (in Mahar Auditorium). *Please note this location change from previous semesters! 

This meeting will be led by Marcie Muehlke, who will be discussing how she built her own wedding dress company, focusing on how business intersects with public policy. Marcie obtained her MBA and MPPA from UMass, and currently works as the Assistant Director of Career Services for the UMass School of Public Policy!
