2019 - 2020 Executive Board

Alexa Wilcox
Secretary
Alexa Wilcox is a sophomore Marketing and Psychology major from Framingham, MA. She first heard about WiB while attending a student panel at Accepted Students Day. As soon as she heard the words, “women in business”, she knew she had to pay that deposit and attend UMass as soon as she could to join WiB. Alexa is in love with WiB because not only does it empower women and help build confidence - it introduces a world of opportunities. Over the last year, WiB has provided her with the opportunities like being a student ambassador for the 2019 WoI Conference, helping out on the marketing committee, and eventually joining the E-Board as secretary!
Outside of WiB, you can find Alexa doing one of three things: A) enjoying a nice iced French Vanilla latte, B) studying in the Business Innovation Hub, or C) boxing! Alexa is especially passionate about pushing for more recognition of female boxers. Did you know the first woman to fight on national TV, Barbara Buttrick, was 4’11”?
Overall, Alexa is ecstatic for the upcoming year and years to come with an amazing group of #bossladies.

Grace O’Malley
Co-Social Events Director
Grace will begin her second semester here at UMass this fall, but don’t be fooled she’s actually a junior. Before attending UMass, Grace received her associates in Media Arts at Massasoit Community College. Flashback three years ago, Grace’s guidance counselor advised her to either learn a trade or join the military due to her poor grades. Grace saw this suggestion as a chance to prove him and everyone else wrong. She has now taken her 1.59 high school GPA *gasp* and raised it to a 4.0 at a four year university. As Drake would say she “started from the bottom now she’s here.” Last semester Grace was a transfer student looking to find her place; she found it within Women in Business. From the meetings to the group outings Grace fell in love with the message and idea of WIB. Grace plans to advance her career path with the skills she learns within the club. When she’s not on her third cup of coffee at the ILC; you can find her organizing plans, keeping up with social media / pop culture, but most likely she’s somewhere making someone laugh. Over the summer, Grace has been thinking of many worthwhile and unique events for all of the WIB members. She’s more than excited to begin her position as Co-Social Events Director and plans for a great year to come.
